The book has chapters on English carriage clocks, chronometers, wall, longcase, mantel and skeleton clocks, regulators, time ball & electric clocks and turret clocks. O/P. 353 pages, 158 plates, 1st American edition, 1969. The books sub-title - A History of Domestic Barometers and their Makers - is an accurate description of the contents. Hana (W.F.J.): English Lantern Clocks
O/P. 159 pages, 127 plates, 1st English edition, 1979. This was the first book on the subject and is still useful to have on the shelf. The book includes 17th century clocks as well as clocks and alarm timepieces from the 18th century. A good copy with poor dust jacket.

Published as supplement # 14 to the NAWCC Bulletin in 1984 this book is a comprehensive overview of the American Watchmaking industry with information about the watches, how they were made and the companies that made them. Hawkins (J.B.): Thomas Cole & Victorian Clockmaking
O/P. 256 pages, illus., 1975. The standard reference book on the life and work of Thomas Cole who made some fabulous clocks before his death from typhoid in 1864. Cole is probably the best clockmaker of the early Victorian period famed for the elegance of his designs and the quality of his engraving. This book is also very useful for the horology extracts from the 1851 and 1862 London exhibitions, and the 1855 Paris exhibition. A clean copy, wear to spine, no dust jacket. (Ref: BB285)  in stock.

Hirst Brothers & Co. : Catalogue of Clocks
O/P. 93 pages, illus., 1982. This is a reprint of the clocks and watches section, from the Hirst Brothers and Company of Manchester catalogue, circa 1910. The clocks are mainly German and American with a large selection of "Vienna Regulators". A useful book for dating early 20th century clocks. Good copy, card covers a little marked. O/P. 64 pages, illus., 1969. A reprint of 4 articles originally published in Antiquarian Horology. A detailed review of Cook's pendulum clocks and marine timekeepers, their use by Cook and their subsequent histories.
