Bound in at the front of the book is a one-page handwritten manuscript letter by John Whitehurst, signed by him and dated 27(?) August 1787. The book is in very good condition, now re-backed with the original spine laid down, using new end papers and the original cloth covered boards (binding tight, light wear to cloth edges, corners a little bumped).
