| Ende (H. van den) et al: Huygens' Legacy - The Golden Age of the Pendulum Clock O/P. 301 pages, profusely illustrated in colour, 2004. This excellent book was published to accompany an exhibition of 90 superb French, English and Dutch clocks at Het Loo Palace in Holland in 2004. The book has 4 main sections; Prologue 1600 - 1656, Invention and Early Development 1656 -1666, Progression and Innovation 1666 - 1685, and Further Developments and Perfection 1685 - 1710. This is an important reference for the early implementation and development of the pendulum clock, the illustrations are of superb quality. | Garnier (R.) & Hollis (L.): Innovation & Collaboration - The Early Development of the Pendulum Clock in London O/P. 412 pages, illustrated, 2018. Written to coincide with an exhibition held in London in September 2018, this book explores the innovation surrounding the development of the early pendulum clock in London and the lines of collaboration that made it happen. The book has chapters on 17th Century clockmaking in London, architectural clock cases, the Fromanteel Family and Cornelius Drebbel, a previously unrecognised influence on the Fromanteels; followed by excellent full colour photographs and descriptions of each of the 119 exhibits dating from circa 1500 to circa 1725. The standard edition of the book, in fine condition with near fine dust jacket - the book has probably never been read. This book has become impossible to find - this is the first copy I have seen since it went out of print in 2019. *** Automatic 10% discount at the checkout on this book***
